Tom’s River On Wednesday, July 9, the Toms River Social Security office, which has been closed since October 2024 for renovations, will reopen to the public at 190 St. Catherine Boulevard.
Monday through Friday, regular office hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. will resume. The number 1-877-255-1497 is still in use.
Better customer service choices, such as the opportunity for guests to make appointments for any kind of service, are part of the reopening. According to officials, this improvement should shorten lengthy wait times and boost the in-office environment in general.
For those who choose not to schedule an appointment, walk-ins will still be accepted, and staff will continue to pay close attention to the needs of people with disabilities and vulnerable groups. You can make an appointment by calling the local office directly or by calling the national hotline, which has a call-back feature, at 1-800-772-1213. The TTY line is available to those who are deaf or hard of hearing at 1-800-325-0778.
Many Social Security services are still available online at www.ssa.gov, where customers can access their own mySocial Security accounts to manage their benefits, request documents, apply for services, and more.
