Downtown Easton parking garage to temporarily close for a week

Those who frequent the

South Third Street Parking Garage

must park elsewhere soon.

The garage at 123 S. Third St. in Downtown Easton, will undergo maintenance starting Monday, July 21, and will be closed to the public.

Weather permitting, the garage should reopen by Friday, July 25.

The

city’s website

says access to the garage will be cut off by the end of July 20. All cars still in the garage will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Monthly contract parkers will have access to the

North Fourth Street Garage

starting Friday, July 18.

The city’s Public Works Director Dave Hopkins said the work includes placing a protective deck coating on the first and second supported levels of the garage.

This is the second phase of the maintenance. Hopkins said the first phase earlier this year involved replacing all of the floor joints on the top level and concrete repairs on all levels.

“These are routine maintenance items that help to keep the structure in good condition,” he said.
