Popular teen jewelry retailer files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for 2nd time, will close 18 stores

Published On:

Recently, the well-known mall mainstay Claire announced that it would file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time in seven years, indicating that it is having financial difficulties.

The struggling jewelry store that draws a lot of teens is now closing its locations.

In a news release, Chris Cramers, CEO of Claire’s, stated that although this decision is challenging, it is essential, citing macroeconomic considerations, growing competition, customer buying patterns, and the continued move away from physical retail.

Similar shops like Forever 21 and Rue21 have filed for bankruptcy and subsequently closed all of their stores, which coincides with the closures and bankruptcy filing.

It is currently unknown if Claire will have the same outcome.

However, up to 1,119 additional Claire’s stores may be closing, per court documents that USA Today was able to get. The chain is also trying to find a buyer for the 800 stores that are left.

If the chain cannot sell them soon, all of its outlets will have to close.

This is all the information you require regarding the Claire’s and Claire’s-owned Icing stores that will be closing as a result of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
