‘Chicago Fire’ cast changes: See who’s returning and who’s not

Published On:

Some of the cast members of Chicago Fire will not be returning to the procedural drama when Season 14 begins on NBC on Wednesday, October 1.

Darren Ritter, played by Daniel Kyri, will only have a little part in the next season. After filming his final episode, he wrote a heartfelt farewell note.

I recorded my final scenes as Ritter yesterday, and I’m still in awe of how my first TV role—one that was only supposed to last three episodes—turned into seven amazing years (SEVEN?!?!! Whatttt???!) and covered eight seasons of this legendary program, he stated on Thursday, August 14 on Instagram. I plan to use the lessons I’ve learned from you to every set going forward, even though I’m aware that I might never come across another cast and crew as incredible as this one.

“I’m excited for fans to see what’s in store for Ritter this season,” Kyri continued. He started portraying the role in Chicago Fire’s seventh season.

In season 14, Jake Lockett, who had been playing Sam Carver since season 11, was also written off.

Even while I have no idea what the future holds, I do know that it will not be precisely the same as it was, and I will really miss it. When Lockett’s departure was revealed in April, he remarked on Instagram that he was really proud of this trip. Bringing Sam to life has been an honor, and I want to thank each and every one of you for your love and support over the last three years.
