Season 17 of “Shark Tank” and season 2 of
“The Golden Bachelor
” will premiere on Wednesday, September 24. “The Golden Bachelor” will initially air at 8 p.m. before moving to the 9 p.m. timeslot when “Abbott Elementary” and “Shifting Gears” return on Wednesday, October 1.

Missing from ABC’s fall schedule is “Doctor Odyssey,” which has been neither canceled nor renewed. The actor’s contracts have lapsed, and the show’s star, Joshua Jackson (Dr. Max Bankman), has a theory about the show’s future.

“They may make that show with somebody else,” Jackson told
People
on Thursday, July 17. “They haven’t let me know, but I am not holding my breath that it’s coming back.”
Jackson added that the season 1 cast, which included Phillipa Soo (Avery Morgan), Sean Teale (Tristan Silva), and Don Johnson (Captain Robert Massey), was “a really good group of people.”
“But this is a crazy and difficult business, and whatever the reasons were for them not wanting to move forward with it, they don’t actually tell us those things,” he said.
