FREEHOLD — A 19-year-old Asbury Park man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this year, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced Friday.
Jordan I. Glisson is facing one count of first-degree murder, along with second-degree charges of unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The charges stem from an April 8 incident in which Asbury Park police responded to reports of gunfire around 4:25 p.m. on the 1100 block of Atlantic Avenue. Officers found 19-year-old Ah’kim Esdaile suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
A joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and Asbury Park police led to Glisson being identified as the suspect.
Glisson was arrested on Monday, July 14, by members of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Task Force and Asbury Park police. He is currently being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a court appearance.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Michael Luciano. Information regarding Glisson’s attorney was not immediately available.
