Class Of 2025 Passes Torch To A New Generation

Manchester Recently, on a nice, sunny day, two generations of Manchester students came together to literally carry the torch on the high school sporting field.

The Class of 2037 kindergarten parents attended a special event that is the first of its kind in the district. Jamie Popek, a graduating student who will be joining the U.S. Coast Guard following graduation, made it.

As they stand here today, our seniors are prepared to share the knowledge they have gained, the aspirations they have fostered, and the hope they have maintained during their time in Manchester. According to Superintendent Diane Pedroza. Our seniors consider how far they have come, while our kindergarteners look forward with open hearts and sparkling eyes as we assemble on this field. From the initial days of school to all the difficulties and victories, to this joyous occasion of graduation and beyond, it is a time to commemorate the trip.

The superintendent observed that the event today perfectly exemplified the Manchester motto of Excellence by Example, which serves as our compass. A senior from MTHS visited kindergarten kids on the field where the MTHS graduation takes place and handed them the torch, which was symbolized by a gorgeously donated shirt from Manchester Township High School and the Manchester Police Benevolent Association.

This ceremony has three rather straightforward objectives: to celebrate the senior class for all that they have accomplished, to motivate the youngest students as they embark on their educational journey, and to promote a sense of community.

The kindergarteners in Manchester were literally and symbolically given the torch of greatness by the MTHS seniors who set an example throughout their tenure here, and they were encouraged to continue it with pride and tenacity.

The occasion signaled the start of a school district tradition that will bring students together to celebrate, reflect, and unite as they begin and finish their educational journeys.

Following the ceremony, a heartfelt thank you was given to Popek, MTHS Principal Dennis Adams, the school district’s Transportation Department, and the MTHS support staff and students that made the event possible.

Additionally, special gratitude were given to the parents who attended the day as well as the kindergarten kids and MTHS seniors who joined together for this event. For the Class of 2025 and the Class of 2037, the ceremony signified a significant milestone in their history.
