Comedy Night Fundraiser Held At Funeral Home

Jackson A funeral home comedy show? People were clamoring to get in because the comedy were so amazing.

The comics provided the hall with far superior content, even though those gags were mercifully avoided. The dining space in the Wisteria Room at Oliverie Funeral Home was ideal for a comedy night.

The occasion served as a fundraiser for the library, another location that is renowned for its quietness. According to Linda Lafer, a friend of a Jackson Library member, the show was a lot of fun and generated a significant amount of money for the library.

What could be more unforgettable than an enjoyable funeral home fundraiser? Lafer inquired. The Jackson Friends of the Library Comedy Night was completely sold out, she revealed.

According to Lafer, the fantastic entertainment for this occasion was provided by Funny 4 Friends, a group that organizes comedy night fundraisers.

Funny 4 Friends’ owner, Bill Simas, was the main act and emcee, according to Lafer. Steve Donovan and Blanca Vales were the other two comics. The more than 100 guests who attended had the chance to take part in two live auctions, four silent auctions, a 50/50, and 15 wonderful raffles after the comedic acts.

According to Lafer, the goods up for auction were a kid’s ride-on Mercedes from Ray Catena Mercedes of Freehold and a mock prep room kit from Oliverie Funeral Home. A golf foursome at Westlake, a golf foursome at the Pine Barrens Golf Club, and three one-hour tennis lessons at the Atlantic Club in Wall were among the goods up for silent auction. A delectable assortment of refreshments and beverages provided by the visitors were on display at each table.

The night received overwhelmingly excellent reviews. The audience laughed heartily at the comedic performances. More significantly, $5,396 was raised overall. In order to achieve an incredible net total of $5,500, Lafer said, someone from the audience graciously donated $100 from her $500 50/50 winnings in addition to an additional $4 anonymously.

All proceeds, she continued, will support the Jackson Library’s capital projects, benefit programs, and other requirements.

We are grateful to the diligent and effective committee for making this a very successful and entertaining evening.
