Published On:

This summer, Ford Motors issued a second recall, this time affecting a well-known pickup truck model.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the automaker recalled 103,174 F-150 cars due to defective hardware that could result in a rollaway or catastrophe.

What Ford models are affected and why are they being recalled?

In the latest recall, Ford F-150 pickup trucks manufactured in 2023–2025 are at issue.

The axle hub splines may sustain damage if the rear axle hub bolt breaks. This damage may result in the vehicle losing drive power or rolling away while parked without the parking brake applied.

A significant crash risk may result from these two instances.

The latest recall is related to a January 2024 recall of 112,965 2021–2023 F-150 cars that had the same safety problem.

What should owners do, if they have one of these recalled Ford models?

The left and right rear axle shaft assemblies on the recalled F-150s can be replaced for free at the dealer, the NHTSA advises owners.

Additionally, notification letters are anticipated to be sent to them from August 18, 2025, to May 22, 2026.

If owners have any questions, they can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. 25S82 is the recall number.

Have there been other Ford recalls this year?

Two additional Ford recalls were announced this summer, and this one comes after them.

In addition to Broncos, Expeditions, Explorers, F-250 SDs, F-350 SDs, F-450 SDs, F-550 SDs, Mustangs, Lincoln Aviators, and Lincoln Navigators, one from July included 2021–2022 F-150 pickups.

Low-pressure fuel pumps on the entire list have the potential to malfunction, stalling the engine and increasing the risk of a collision.

Meanwhile, over 300,000 Mach-E all-electric SUVs were the subject of a prior recall that was issued in June.

According to the NHTSA, they feature a battery flaw that may lock people inside the cars and trap them there.
