Staff According to Stafford Township police, a former bank teller has been accused in relation to a scam that stole account information and debit cards from numerous individuals at a TD Bank.
After an investigation by the Stafford Township Police Department that started in April, Katelyn S. Lang, 28, of Browns Mills, was taken into custody on June 19. According to officials, detectives found four more individuals whose accounts were accessed without permission.
Police claim that beginning in January 2025, Lang connected the victim’s account details and debit card to a digital wallet and used it to make purchases in Stafford Township and the surrounding areas. According to investigators, Lang assisted the victims with legal transactions while working as a teller before the crime happened.
Five counts of third-degree computer criminal activity, four counts of fourth-degree credit card theft, two counts of third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card, and one offense of third-degree criminal attempt were brought against Lang when she turned herself in to the police.
She is expected to appear in Ocean County Superior Court after being discharged on a summons.
