Alum of Jon & Kate Plus 8 Speaking up about his distance from his seven siblings is Collin Gosselin.
It’s us against the world; we were born to work together. Collin, 21, commented, “Forced to do it alone, and wonder everyday what our lives could have looked like,” next to a vintage image of him and his brothers that was posted on TikTok earlier this week.
“Forced apart, pitted against each other,” Collin explained in the caption. What about children being children, despite all the wealth and celebrity in the world? Above all, I shall always love you. I cried in private as I considered the memories we may have made together. I cherish you all.
“Maybe someday we can all be together again, love ya,” said Collin’s father, Jon Gosselin.
I sincerely hope so, Collin retorted. I also love you.
With his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, Jon has eight children: sextuplets Collin, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Leah, and Joel; and twins Cara and Mady, all of whom are 24 years old. From 2007 to 2009, the family’s life was chronicled in the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8.
The TLC program was renamed Kate Plus 8 following Jon and Kate’s 2009 divorce, and it ran until 2017 with a 2011–2015 break.
Kate and the other Gosselin children have been separated from Jon, Collin, and Hannah for a long time. Collin stated in an interview with the U.S. Sun in October 2024 that his mother had been emotionally and physically abusive to him as a child. Additionally, he said that Kate made him dwell in a camera-monitored, locked chamber in the basement.
Collin said, “I just remember being cut off from my siblings and always taking the fall for her feelings or the difficult things going on in her life.”

Kate’s attorney At the time, Richard Puleo’s attorney told The U.S. Sun that he didn’t believe Kate would purposefully hurt Collin.
According to Puleo, she took the actions she did to safeguard her family and herself since Collin had displayed problematic behavior when he was younger.
Kate had earlier accused Collin on her own.
In a July 2023 statement to People, she claimed that her son, Collin, whom she loves dearly, has been diagnosed with several mental illnesses over the years. She also claimed that she felt forced to speak out after Collin accused her of abuse. After years of outpatient care that was insufficient for his requirements, he was admitted to a facility for his personal well-being, the protection of his siblings, and myself. After one of his several episodes or outbursts, in which he used a weapon, emergency department doctors decided to admit him.
Kate also described Collin as a very problematic young guy who still requires a lot of care, saying that his violent and erratic behavior toward Jon, Hannah, and others has regrettably persisted on a daily basis.
Mady, Collin’s sister, also came forward at the time on her Instagram Story, saying that Collin had threatened me and my entire immediate family physically.
In a statement to the U.S. Sun, Jon’s representative criticized Kate’s assertions.
According to the representative at the time, Kate’s posting of harsh, untrue charges about Collin appears to be just another attempt to defend her unacceptable, horrifying past actions toward him. A mother publicly criticizing her son is not an indication of true love for a child.
