After a U.S. Postal Service box truck collided with many parked cars and overturned in a residential driveway, Veterans Boulevard in Berkeley was closed for three hours on Saturday morning, according to authorities.

According to Berkeley Township police, at approximately 5:35 a.m. on August 16, officers arrived at the 300 block of Veterans Boulevard and discovered a 30-foot mail truck on its side in the driveway of 369 Veterans Blvd.

According to the first inquiry, the truck struck a parked car close to the shoulder in front of 371 Veterans Blvd. while it was heading east. According to the police, the truck then swerved straight into the neighboring property, skidded more than 200 feet, and collided with two cars parked in the driveway. Before the postal truck crashed, the impact forced those cars into another that was parked at 363 Veterans Blvd.

Although there was damage to both sites, there was no documented structural damage to the residences.

The motorist informed authorities he hit his head but did not lose consciousness, but he had cuts and hand pain. He was transported to the Community Medical Center in Toms River by Berkeley Township EMS.

All five of the damaged cars were taken out of the area by Accurate Towing. The Berkeley Township Police Traffic Safety Bureau is still investigating the collision.
