LACEY — A Bayville man is facing multiple charges after allegedly firing a gun during a road rage incident Thursday morning, police said.
Officers with the Lacey Township Police Department responded to Lacey Road around 8:10 a.m. on July 17 for a report of a man who exited his vehicle, brandished a firearm, and shot at another vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The victim was not injured, but officers found damage on the vehicle consistent with a projectile strike. A search led police to a business parking lot on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor, where the suspect was taken into custody.
Paul R. Cacciola, 39, was arrested and a black pistol was seized. He was charged with certain persons not to have a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, and interference with transportation.
Cacciola was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit assisted at the scene.
