Mandy Moore’s next TV project is a ‘This Is Us’ reunion

For a new television project, Mandy Moore is getting back together with a member of her This Is Us family.

This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman’s next NFL-themed Hulu series will feature the Emmy-nominated actress.

Moore, who portrayed This Is Us’s matriarch Rebecca Pearson, will portray Lauren, Hank’s daughter, played by William H. Macy. Moore is playing Benita Alexander in season 2 of Dr. Death, which was her first significant television role since 2023.

Law & Order star Fogelman’s new program, which has not yet been given a title, Special Victims Unit: head coach of an NFL team, Christopher Meloni.

Sterling K. Brown, who portrayed Randall Pearson on the family drama, has also collaborated with Fogelman on another television project since the conclusion of This Is Us in 2022. In Fogelman’s political drama Paradise, which has been renewed for a second season, Brown plays Secret Service lead agent Xavier Collins.

One of my favorite things about Dan is that he did the same thing with This Is Us, saying, “I have six seasons in my head.” Additionally, Brown stated in a June interview with Deadline that he had three seasons in mind for Paradise. Making television with a beginning, middle, and end is pleasant because you’re constantly working toward a goal. You never use filler merely for the purpose of using it.

From 2016 to 2022, NBC broadcast This Is Us for six seasons. The Pearson siblings—Kate (Chrissy Metz), Randall (Brown), and Kevin (Justin Hartley)—as well as their parents, Rebecca (Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), were the focus of the program. The story of the family was told in a number of timelines, including flashbacks to the siblings’ early years and present-tense situations.

Following her directorial debut on a season 6 episode of This Is Us titled the Hill, Moore praised Fogelman.

In December 2021, she posted on Instagram, “I am eternally grateful to Dan Fogelman for changing my life in every way with #thisisus and for giving me the chance to helm a truly extraordinary episode of television written by the brilliant David Windsor, Casey Johnson, and @chrissymetz in our final season.”

The launch date for Fogelman’s new program, which stars Moore, has not yet been disclosed.

You can stream Paradise and This Is Us on Hulu.
