Greetings, Miss Manners I’ve discovered a guest’s clothing left behind twice in the last few months when cleaning up the spare room following overnight visitors.
This seems to be readily fixed with a shirt or scarf: With a brief note expressing how nice it was to see the guest and expressing our hope that she hadn’t missed the item for too long, drop the item off at the post office.
But when it comes to more personal clothing, we are at a loss for what to do. What is the most courteous thing to do?
PERSONAL READER: You are not being asked to imagine what would happen if these things were lost, or to model them. Miss Masters tells you to simply return them.
