LITTLE EGG HARBOR — Two people were hospitalized following a collision between a school bus and a sedan at a Little Egg Harbor intersection, authorities said.
The crash occurred shortly after 12 p.m. on June 16 at the intersection of Radio Road and Gaskill Drive, according to a statement from Little Egg Harbor police.
A 30-year-old woman driving a Honda Civic was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated by fire and EMS personnel. Firefighters used extraction tools to remove the driver’s side door and free her, police said. She was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Seven students from the Pinelands Regional School District were aboard the school bus. One student was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
The bus driver, identified as 23-year-old Ryan Maloney of Durham Bus Services, was issued a summons for failure to stop or yield the right of way, police said.
Radio Road traffic was diverted for about an hour during the emergency response.
