There are many reasons to enjoy summer. But I don’t particularly enjoy the humidity it brings, or the resulting frizz in my hair. Fortunately, I have a secret weapon.
Davines Oi Oil is the one product I never leave the house without when hair comes to combating summertime frizz.
I think it’s vital to mention that I tried with hair oils for more than ten years before discovering my holy grail before I start waxing poetic about Davines hair oil. If I’ve learned anything, it’s that you must approach it with your hair type in mind. Professionals agree with this.
According to hairstylist Daniel Ferretti of Ferretti Salon, the type of oil you use should be based on your hair type. For instance, if your hair is coarse and requires additional nourishment, use a heavier hair oil. Conversely, those who are fine to medium should choose something lighter.
I have curls and dry ends, making my hair a genuine medium. As a result, I’ve discovered that oils that are a tad thicker suit me better. Davine’s Oi Oil comes next.
This hair oil, which was made with nutritious roucou oil (an oil extracted from annatto seeds), satisfied my three main needs: it had to hydrate, it had to increase shine, and it had to control my frizz. The fact that it smells amazing doesn’t hurt either.
Ferretti adds, “I also love that this oil absorbs as well on dry hair as it does on wet hair, which is another sign of a good hair oil.” This is in contrast to many of the other hair oils I’ve tried.
According to him, it’s crucial that the oil be readily absorbed into the hair rather than simply sitting on top of it and giving the appearance of grease. Instead of choosing an oil that only shines, choose one that penetrates your hair to provide it with the nutrients it needs.
I’ve introduced this oil to practically all of my friends over the years, and I mean it when I say that their hair types range from fine and flat to true 4Cs. It is the only hair oil I have ever used that, as they say, works on all hair types.
Therefore, if August’s oppressive humidity has been giving you a lot of days with frizzy hair, start with the best and avoid the tens of years of testing that I did. Your hair will appreciate it.
