Alumnus of color Recently, Anthony Anderson faced criticism for an interview he conducted with Lindsay Lohan in December 2003.
Anderson was 33 years old and Lohan was only 17 when the clip from The Sharon Osbourne Show appeared. Anderson laid his hand on Lohan’s knee and remarked, “You’ve grown up a whole lot since then,” after praising her performance in the 1998 movie The Parent Trap.
Anderson referred to Lohan and another child star Raven-Symon as “beautiful young women” and inquired as to what males would be present at the new pad after Lohan mentioned that they had recently moved in together.
Anderson retorted, “You know, some men like em young,” in response to Lohan’s statement that she was unlawful for elderly folks. We will not name them, but I am one of them, you know.
A representative for Anderson responded to the interview when it circulated on social media last week.
It was obvious that this interview was meant to be humorous. The representative told Entertainment Weekly that Anderson “regrets if the humor was in poor taste and maintains the utmost respect for Lindsay.” Inaccurate and perhaps defamatory is any inference to the contrary.
As Lohan has been promoting her next sequel, Freakier Friday, which is set for release on August 8, the footage has reappeared. Lohan was promoting the DVD release of Freaky Friday, which came out in theaters that summer, when she appeared on the Sharon Osbourne Show in 2003.
Anderson threw his arms around Lohan and remarked, “Right now, we’re going to get our freak on,” as the commercial break began.

On X, the interview was criticized for being unsettling and scary. Anderson was previously accused of raping an extra on the set of the 2004 movie Hustle & Flow, according to one X user. Charges of aggrevated rape were brought against him after his arrest, however they were eventually withdrawn. At the time, an Anderson representative stated that the actor categorically refutes the egregious accusations.
