Jihaad Campbell, a rookie linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles, thinks he can contribute this season and destroy games for the rest of his career.
During sessions, Campbell has shown off his confidence by sprinting at running backs and offensive lineman. He never hesitates or shows timidity. He became so hostile that it was necessary to control him.
When he talked about his conversation with Browns standout edge rusher Myles Garrett, it was also evident. Following Wednesday’s session, the two got together.
“Really, it’s just two weird people conversing,” Campbell stated on Thursday. He’s a wonderful man. Just discussing routines and habits, particularly with regard to me as a rookie and developing my personal identity. simply working hard and remaining true to who I am.
In each of this week’s joint sessions, Garrett dominated the Eagles’ offense. The fact that he defeated Jordan Mailata, an Eagles All-Pro left tackle, added to his remarkable performance.
Mailata assured reporters that watching his clip against Garrett would make him laugh. Garrett is one of the few players in the NFL who can’t be stopped. Even if an offensive tackle does everything correctly, they will still lose to him.
It’s unlikely that Campbell will have the same impact. Garrett is one of the most dominant players in NFL history. He might be among the greatest.
However, some of the advice Garrett gave Campbell might be helpful.
Campbell is physically capable of making the All-Pro team as a linebacker. He has the potential to become one of the league’s most potent weapons once he improves as a pass rusher.
He was selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft by Eagles general manager Howie Roseman for those two reasons. He sees Campbell as a celebrity.
Campbell shares that opinion.
It’s not a bad idea to start by looking up to Garrett.
