Rachel Frederickson, the winner of season 15 of The Biggest Loser, stunned audiences by dropping 155 pounds throughout the reality show.
Frederickson’s drastic metamorphosis in the 2014 season finale sparked criticism, with many claiming it was unhealthy. Frederickson dropped from 260 pounds to barely 105 pounds in seven months, losing 60 percent of her body weight. Losing more than two pounds each week is discouraged by the majority of medical specialists.
When Frederickson left on finale night, the Biggest Loser trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels, who didn’t work with her, appeared surprised.
When she left, I was just like, “Whoa!” Harper stated, “And I’ve been on the show since the beginning, forever,” when she appeared on Rachael Ray’s talk show in 2014. I was taken aback. The word would be that. We’ve never had a competitor weigh 105 pounds, after all.
Frederickson discussed the public’s response to the episode in an essay she wrote for Today in December 2014.

I never felt stronger than I did when I took the stage for the live finale. I had done everything I set out to do. I was really pleased with myself. It was a fleeting moment, Frederickson wrote. I received harsh remarks during the contentious tempest that followed my weight loss. This time, the voices of others—the ones that endure forever in magazine pages or Facebook posts—had an impact on my self-esteem once more. Others attempted to undermine me and were successful (in private). I want to express my gratitude to everyone who tried to cheer me up after the conclusion!
After the finale, Frederickson did manage to put on twenty pounds again in a few of months. In April 2014, she stated to US Weekly that she believed 125 pounds to be her ideal weight. She also maintained that she had naturally dropped weight while competing on The Biggest Loser.
Frederickson declared, “I’m really proud of the way I lost the weight.” My inner athlete truly returned.
Frederickson talked about her history as a state champion swimmer who nearly qualified for the Olympics on The Biggest Loser. Following a difficult breakup, she started putting on weight.
According to her LinkedIn page, Frederickson is currently employed with Land O Lakes as a Customer Insights and Analytics Manager. She continues to volunteer as a dog walker, photographer, and bottle feeder for kittens at the Best Friends Animal Society. Her Instagram account is private.
With confidence, move toward your goals. Enjoy every moment of life! It says on her Instagram bio.
