Hulu’s political thriller “Paradise” is adding a big star to the season 2 cast.

“Big Little Lies” alum Shailene Woodley will play a major role in season 2. “Paradise” creator Dan Fogelman revealed during a June interview with
Deadline
that Woodley’s character survived outside the bunker after
season 1’s catastrophic tsunami
.
“I think the fun part of our current coming season is that it lives partially in the bunker and [partially in] the world that we all know,” Fogelman teased. “And then paths start crossing as the season progresses, and so [Woodley’s] one of those people. I think she’s got a kind of interesting backstory and a very interesting profession that affects one of our early episodes of the season.”
Sterling K. Brown, who stars as Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins, called Woodley “a wonderful human being” who “fit in hand-in-glove” with the rest of the “Paradise” cast and crew.

Raymond Cham Jr.

Who is returning for season 2 of ‘Paradise?’
Brown will reprise his role as Agent Collins in season 2. Although Samantha “Sinatra” Redmond (Julianne Nicholson), got shot during the season 1 finale, Nicholson told
Collider
in June that Redmond will be “up and walking” in season 2.
Sarah Shahi (Dr. Gabriela Torabi), Nicole Brydon Bloom (Agent Jane Driscoll), Krys Marshall (Nicole Robinson), Aliyah Mastin, (Presley Collins), Percy Daggs IV (James Collins), and Charlie Evans (Jeremy Bradford) are also expected to return.
Although President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) was
killed during season 1
, he’ll make some appearances in season 2.
“We see a little bit more of Marsden. We get a chance to see him in different time periods,” Brown said during a July interview with
Entertainment Weekly
. “It’s really cool.”
