Hours before its release, the BBC canceled a brand-new documentary about Ozzy Osbourne’s life.

On Monday, August 18, Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home was supposed to premiere on the BBC One network in the United Kingdom. However, it was taken off the schedule earlier that day.In a statement, the BBC explained the withdrawal.

We are sending our condolences to the Osbourne family during this trying time. According to the statement, we are honoring the family’s request to hold off on showing this extremely precious movie for a little while longer. We’ll confirm the revised [air] date soon.

Osbourne passed away on July 22 at the age of 76 following a heart attack. Aimee Osbourne, his daughter, submitted a death certificate stating that Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction and coronary artery disease were contributory reasons.

In addition to his three children from his first marriage to Thelma Riley, Jessica, Elliot, and Louis, the Black Sabbath vocalist is also survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon Osbourne, and their three adult children, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.

Several members of Osbourne’s kin took part in the documentary Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, even though the family wanted the broadcast to be postponed.

According to the BBC, the documentary is a heartwarming and motivational story of Ozzy’s final years, presented through exclusive and close access to the entire Osbourne family, including Sharon, Jack, and Kelly.

Kelly Osbourne (@kellyosbourne) shared a post.

Ozzy’s fight with Parkinson’s disease and his preparations for Black Sabbath’s last performance, Back to the Beginning, which was held just weeks before Ozzy passed away, are chronicled in the movie.

Following Ozzy’s death, Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis issued a unified statement.

We must announce with more sorrow than words can express that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning. He was surrounded by affection and with his family. The family stated, “At this time, we ask everyone to respect our family privacy.”

Kelly previously gushed over her father’s final concert. Kelly became well-known herself while appearing on the family’s MTV reality show, The Osbournes (2022-2005).

It would be an understatement to say that yesterday was magical! My eyes are watering so much that I can’t even write this! In July, Kelly posted on Instagram, “Thank you to everyone who came to support my dad.” We are nothing without our supporters, so thank you! It was my dad’s turn to shine! He had the most exquisite way of saying “thank you” and “good bye!” #ozzyForever.
